day 2

11pm, storm. need we say any more? temperatures dropped to an easy 21 in Lahore, god alone knows whats happening Pindi and beyond.
heartwarming turnout today, feeling a lot better about humanity in general and luminites in particular. LAS boys on their way to Bagh in this crazy weather. six hours to pindi, and onwards from there. how the hell those people up north are going to survive in this weather for another night is beyond me.
at least now i know that there are a decent 100-200 people out there who will show up for these things, come rain or shine. and there are people who will give everything they can, and then some. hope our efforts end up making some small difference in the end.
at the end of the day, im just exhausted. and theres a nagging feeling at the back of my mind that our efforts seem so small, in the grander scheme of things. that truck we loaded looked tiny against the flashing sky and billowing clouds of dust. men shouting, tarpaulin snapping, gunny bags and jerry cans piled high... somehow its still not enough. all this, and we still need a miracle.

so much to do. come on now, they're counting on us. for we have promises to keep, and miles to go before we sleep, and miles to go before...
